Lovely, splendid and peaceful garden in Hanover

3 November 2016

Herrenhausen Gardens are absolutely beautiful with a touch of drama. It is located in Hanover an hour drive away from our place. This place is really a huge park and are made up of four big gardens.. You can walk around for hours and still not get enough of it.

As we arrived there, we saw beautiful symmetric planted gorgeous autumn trees. It automatically reminds me of some good old movies and romantic nobles.

We visited during the last week of October. The leaves are almost gone from the trees but still perfect for photography. It has a nice combination of a lake, straight pathways, statues, and trees. It is definitely one of the places in Hanover, that you can visit in any season. Walking, bicycling, relaxing, even picnics, this garden is just a perfect place to bond with the ones you love.

I've been to many gardens around Germany and this particular park is one of the best. It was splendid and we definitely had a great time!

Cabo da Roca, Portugal

28 October 2016

Cabo da Roca is one fantastic place to visit in Portugal. It is amazing not only because it's the most western point of Europe but the blue bays, the whole landscape, and the view are truly a wonder!

Here are some photos I took at Cabo da Roca Colares, Portugal

on our way to Cabo da Roca (the view is amazing outside!)

On our way back from Sintra to Lisbon, we stopped at Cabo da Roca. We came there with a tour bus from TUI. The ride from Sintra to Cabo da Roca took 27 minutes and we had 20 minutes of our time to see the place. The time was quite limited because it's only a part of our tour. We were lucky and had a great sunshine that day but just bring something warm as it is very windy and cool although the sun is high. The place can be very crowded too from time to time since many tourists always stop there. But Cabo da Roca is one true gem and it is definitely worth to visit.

The place is also quiet known for wedding photoshoots! :)

Fall Experience 2016

22 October 2016

I love this time of the year. It's amazing how summer collapsed into fall. I still remember how I dreamed of fall when I was small. In Philippines, there is only sunny and rainy season. For sure to live in a tropical country can be a dream for many Europeans but of course, we constantly look for something what we don't have.

Here are some of the Photos i took at Rhododendron Park - Bremen, Germany

Now it put smile on my face as I recall some of my childhood memories. I would sometimes go to a bookstore and check Greeting Cards section. Hallmark was the popular brand of Greeting cards back then. They always use dreamy and beautiful images. How fascinated I was and I told myself that one day I will definitely travel USA or Europe. Now that I moved in Germany, nature, landscapes, and culture still amazes me.

Although the weather can be very bad during Autumn, the beautiful warm Fall colors makes me feel cozy. I still couldn't stop taking photos especially with aligned trees and the beautiful vibrant autumn leaves on the ground. Definitely, nature never goes out of Style.

Marienburg Castle - "A Love of a Lifetime"

9 March 2016

How many loved
Your moments of glad grace,
And loved your beauty with love false or true;
But one man loved, And loved the sorrows
Of your changing face.

-W B Yeats

Hailing all the way from the south of Hannover, the place where you will find the beautiful Marienburg Castle. This romantic medieval castle is King George V's token of his abiding love for his wife Queen Marie.

Marienburg castle is located between Hannover and Hildesheim, at 135 meters above sea level. I couldn't contain myself while we were on our way to the castle. The weather was cool and beautiful that day. The sun was bright but my eyes are missing the green surrounding... I am relieved though that it is not long anymore until Spring rains bring back the growth of the tree leaves and flowers. I can't lie... sitting in the car, enjoying the nature and a good classic piece of music is the best relaxation ever for me.

While still inside the car and enjoying the beauty of the shadowy road under the leafless trees, I can see some parts of the castle behind the trees. The castle is literally situated above the hill and is surrounded by a thick forest... Every time it shows up from behind, I felt like its purposely teasing my thrilled heart. It's so enchanting!

Marienburg castle is a symbol of real fairy tale love story between King George V and Queen Marie. The King gave this castle with 160 rooms, has massive lookout towers soaring to 30 meters, chapel and stables, to his Queen for her 39th Birthday. Now, it became as one of Germany's most impressive architectural monuments.

We toured the castle inside but unfortunately, cameras are not allowed. The history is absolutely fascinating and entering the main door feels like you hopped on to a time machine and traveled back in the past... It's really something though if you are already standing there and be able to touch the walls, the bed, and the couch of the royal family. All the original belongings of the Queen and her family are still there and they are all well preserved. My favorite part is the Kitchen! How I wished I was born in the past and live exactly in the same place. Nowhere else! :)

Now it is time to walk outside...

How perfect are the clouds in this bright blue sky?

Did I just found Harry, Hermione and Ron outside Marienburg?

definitely obsessed with bricks and nature...

Overall, Marienburg Castle is one of the top 3 of my favorite castles in Germany. But maybe it is too early for me to say that because there are still 20,000 castles in this beautiful country and I only visited not more than 10 out of it!

All these castles bear testimony in stone to courtly intrigue, to the rise and fall of mighty dynasties, to the lives of princesses, rulers, kings and their lovers at the royal courts – and they tell fascinating stories in which great joy and sorrow are closely intertwined in tales that have eternal appeal. In several castles the authentic furnishings have also survived the ravages of the years and they make history come alive more vibrantly than any book could ever do.
