What is Home?

11 June 2021

What is home? My favorite definition is "a safe place," a place where one is free from attack, a place where one experiences secure relationships and affirmation. It's a place where people share and understand each other. Its relationships are nurturing. The people in it do not need to be perfect; instead, they need to be honest, loving, supportive, recognizing a common humanity that makes all of us vulnerable.

Many times i found myself daydreaming of homesteading in the wilderness on a remote mountain somewhere. Little did i know, the present where i am now is way better than what my head presented to me years ago. It was 2020 when started planning and building our own home in a beautiful German Village. 2021 on the month of March, we finally moved in to our new home by the woods. Living here is different in every positive way.

However it was not all magical and perfect at first. This new built home is humble and beautiful. But the day we moved in, i bawled my eyes out. I thought for a second that moving here was a mistake. I thought i could never love this new place. I missed the old apartment. „How could we ever leave our first home, the vessel of our memories?“ I asked my husband many times that day, „how could we stay away from our little piece of heaven where everything started?“ That was a schorching March day. I hid myself in the corner of an empty room and cried few tears.

The next morning while having our very first breakfast, we saw tiny colorful birds outside the window and the trees were so beautiful too. My tears have gone dry then i started noticing the beauty around.  That moment was definitely the turning point and told myself,  "this isn't bad at all".

As days goes by, things are only getting better and better. Now that we are here, with the beauty of the forest and lovely neighbor surrounding us, we can totally say... it is definitely OUR HOME.

Dont let fear stops you from realizing your dreams.

Faster Is Not Always Better | Why I Choose Slow Living

4 April 2020

“Material goods rarely alter our levels of happiness, unlike emotional experience. Having can never replace being.” –Ilsa Crawford

“Once you learn to detach happiness from acquiring and owning things you can focus on what truly makes you happy—and actually achieve that.” –Peter Walsh

These are just among of my favorite quotes that encourage slow living. Our time in this world are so little and delicate. Anyone of us can disappear anytime. I made myself aware of how I really wanted to live my short life meaningfully, mindfully, and with a purpose. As years passed by, i have learned slowly how to appreaciate the beauty of life by just being in the moment. Peter Walsh once said, “Ask anyone what makes them truly happy, and they won’t say their stuff.” I truly agree with that. Many of us complicate life so much because that's how the society encourage people... DO MORE IN ORDER TO HAVE MORE.

Vlog | ALMOST SPRING - Happy Backyard

12 March 2020

Amidst of the health concerns that our world is facing right now, nature reminds us that we can rely on her, we can always create great connection to her. In nature, we have a safe and happy space. Just being surrounded by bountiful nature, preserves our health, rejuvinates and inspires us.
Here we are... patiently waiting for spring and just enjoying the glowing sunset in our backyard :)

Magical Moments in the Woods | September 15, 2019

15 September 2019

It’s a cold afternoon but the strong call of the nature must be heard. So we went out for fresh air! During our walk, we saw beautiful moss, wild berries and mushrooms that looks like a village in a fairytale book. Aren’t these the most magical things ever? It must be crazy to hear this, but I don’t miss the white sand and beautiful beaches in my hometown in the Philippines. I knew I belong to the woods.

If I Could Make Days Last Forever

30 August 2019

If I could make days last forever
If words could make wishes come true
I'd save every day like a treasure and then
Again, I would spend them with you

But there never seems to be enough time
To do the things you want to do
Once you find them
I've looked around enough to know
That you're the one I want to go
Through time with
